It was with deepest sadness and heartfelt sorrow that we announced that our beloved Nathan Gregory MOSSFELDT was taken suddenly from family and friends near Cochrane, Alberta August 20, 2001.
Nathan was born and raised in Calgary where he lived his short life to the fullest, always surrounded by friends. Sadly, he made this final journey with some of them.
Nathan was attending St. Francis High School where he was entering Grade 12. Nathan had a passion for life and was always keen to participate in new and challenging endeavours.
Nathan learned SCUBA diving at a young age from his father and had progressed to deep diving shipwrecks, working alongside his dad on trips to the west coast of British Columbia and, closer to home, Lake Minnewanka.
He was a natural athlete and would spend hours with his friends shooting hoops, playing volleyball or just working out.
He was returning to Calgary from a camping trip to participate in a volleyball camp in preparation for joining the St. Francis High School senior team.
Nathan balanced the sports in his life with his charismatic ability to appreciate beauty in all forms. He had a kind and gentle nature which created a very large circle of friends, and he was especially popular with the young ladies.
Nathan never had a problem comforting a friend or coming up with just the right words to enliven any social or classroom situation. His wonderful smile, charming good looks and outgoing personality will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Those who never met Nathan have truly been cheated.
WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU NATHAN.
He is survived by his mother Anna (Bill) Lane, father Greg (TL), his devoted sister Melissa as well as maternal grandparents Bela & Rose Bencsik, paternal grandparents Barb & Buddy Gallelli, Ken and Carol Mossfeldt, maternal great-grandparents Leslie & Rose Kametler, paternal great grandmother Jenny Mossfeldt as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
On behalf of Greg, myself, Anna and the rest of Nathan's family thanks very much for all the support and sympathy we have received. Bless each and every one of you.
